The Uganda Golf Club Captain, Paul Charles Rukundo, praised the high standard of play, citing this edition as one of the final rounds leading towards the grand Mug of Mugs happening in December.

“The level of competition we witnessed today is a testament to the growing depth of talent in Ugandan golf. Initially we should have hosted this tournament last week, but we had another important calendar event dubbed the Clash of Titans in Entebbe, where the majority of the members actively participated. However, we are happy that it has finally happened.“ Rukundo said, adding that it is encouraging to see both seasoned and upcoming golfers displaying such skills.

He noted that tournaments like the Stanbic Mug are crucial for the development of the sport, and we appreciate Stanbic’s unwavering partnership.

An elated Herbert Olowo dedicated his victory to perseverance. “This is a moment I have worked very hard for. The course was challenging, but I managed to stay focused on my game. I am thrilled to have my name on this coveted trophy and I want to thank Stanbic Bank for organizing such a flawless event that brings out the best in us,” he said.

Other notable winners included Michael Obalim and Steven Katwiremu in the Men’s Groups, Berna Musanabera and Hasifa Karungi in the Ladies’ categories, and Kishor Datani and Jenina Nasimolo as the Senior winners. The guest winner was Peace Musisi from Namulonge, who posted an impressive nett 68.
