Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Uganda has been recognised for outstanding customer service after being named 1st Runner-Up for Best in Client Service at the 8th Bi-Annual Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Bankers Appreciation Conference.

The ceremony, held at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, brought together financial sector leaders, policymakers and key industry players to honour institutions that have demonstrated excellence in customer service and tax collection. DTB Uganda stood out for its efficiency in resolving customer concerns and ensuring smooth government revenue collections.

The recognition highlights the bank’s growing reputation for delivering reliable and convenient services to customers while supporting Uganda’s tax system. Through its long-standing partnership with URA, DTB has played a critical role in making tax payments easier and more accessible for individuals and businesses across the country.

For more than 18 years, DTB has worked closely with URA to simplify tax compliance through its wide network of 37 branches, over 900 banking agents, and robust digital banking platforms that allow customers to make payments conveniently.

Bank officials said the award reflects DTB’s continued focus on improving customer experience while expanding financial access to underserved communities. The bank recently strengthened its footprint with the opening of a new branch in Tororo, a move aimed at extending financial services to more Ugandans and supporting business growth in the region.

This year’s conference was held under the theme: “Financial Institutions as a Catalyst to Scaling Enterprise Productivity and Tax Base Expansion: A Pathway to 10-Fold Economic Growth.” The discussions focused on how banks can drive economic transformation by supporting businesses and improving tax compliance.

Speaking during the event, DTB Managing Director Godfrey Sebaana said collaboration among financial institutions will be key in unlocking Uganda’s economic potential.

“Financial institutions in Uganda are capable of taking us where we aspire to go. Walking alone will only take us so far, but together, we can achieve much more,” Sebaana said.
