Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2024, Equity Bank has launched the second edition of Abakyala Ku Ntiiko, an initiative dedicated to empowering women in micro and small-scale businesses.
The event, held in Kampala, brought together hundreds of women entrepreneurs, financial experts, and industry leaders to foster financial literacy, networking, and business growth. Equity Bank’s Managing Director, Gift Shoko, emphasized the importance of women’s economic empowerment, stating, “When women are financially empowered, they uplift families and communities.”
Tailored Solutions for Women Entrepreneurs
Equity Bank has developed tailored products, such as the Equi-Mama suite, to address the unique challenges women face in managing finances. These products offer personalized financial planning, investment advice, insurance coverage, and access to unsecured financing.
Empowering Women, Transforming Communities

Equity Bank recognizes the vital role women play in driving economic growth and community development. Through Abakyala Ku Ntiiko, the bank aims to provide women entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge, resources, and support to scale and thrive their businesses.
The Abakyala Ku Ntiiko initiative will continue with regional events in Masaka, Iganga, Lira, and Kiboga, providing a platform for women entrepreneurs to connect, learn, and grow.
