As mothers continue to carry the daily responsibility of caring for families and communities, ICEA LION Life Assurance is using this year’s Mother’s Day season to champion women’s wellbeing and support systems.
The Company has committed Shs7 million towards the fifth edition of the Moms Gather Conference, an event aimed at empowering and supporting mothers, expectant women, and young women preparing for motherhood.
The conference will take place on May 9 at Speke Resort Munyonyo under the theme “To Nurture and Be Nurtured.” More than 200 women are expected to attend the event, which will focus on wellness, health, personal growth, and motherhood support.
According to company officials, the partnership reflects ICEA LION’s commitment to supporting women beyond financial services by promoting their health, wellbeing, and long-term security.
“Mothers play an important role in shaping families and communities,” said Ann Njeri Njugi. “Through this partnership, we want women to access support, guidance, and solutions that are designed for their unique needs.”

ICEA LION highlighted its women-focused insurance solution, the Lioness Plan, which provides benefits such as cancer screening, antenatal care support, and other health-related services aimed at improving women’s wellbeing.
Organisers say the conference has been designed as a safe and relaxing space where mothers can interact, learn, and recharge. Participants will have access to wellness sessions, health talks, nutrition guidance, and simple relaxation activities including spa experiences.
Sharon Byereta said the company continues to develop products and programmes that respond directly to the challenges women face.
“We want mothers to access services that protect both their health and their future,” she noted.
Founded in 2022 by Lisa Kusiima Mugisa and Daisy Musingye Kisakye, Moms Gather has grown into a community of more than 500 mothers who share experiences, encouragement, and parenting support.
Kisakye said the sponsorship will help more mothers attend the conference and benefit from the knowledge and support shared during the event.
The gathering will also feature several notable guests, including Allen Kagina, reflecting the growing attention being given to maternal wellbeing and family support initiatives in Uganda.
Through the partnership, ICEA LION says it hopes to strengthen conversations around caring for mothers and ensuring women receive the support they need while raising families and building communities.
