KCB Bank Launches Second East Africa Golf Tournament Season

KCB Bank Uganda has officially launched the second edition of the KCB East Africa Golf Tournament, reaffirming its commitment to promoting regional integration, networking, and sustainable development through sport.

The highly anticipated tournament is scheduled to tee off on June 27, 2026, at the prestigious Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa and is expected to attract more than 180 golfers from across East Africa, including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Held under the theme “Roar on the Green,” this year’s tournament seeks to bring together business leaders, corporate executives, golf enthusiasts and professionals in a competitive yet collaborative environment that fosters meaningful relationships beyond the fairways.

The tournament is being organized in partnership with ICEA Lion Uganda, Kenya Airways, CFAO Mobility Uganda and Ruby Hospital Kampala, all of whom will play key roles in enhancing the overall experience for participants.

Speaking during the launch, KCB Bank Uganda Head of Marketing and Communications, Noela Byuma, said the tournament has grown into an important regional platform that connects people, businesses and communities while promoting values of excellence and sustainability.

“The Roar on the Green theme reflects the confidence, determination and resilience required to succeed both on the golf course and in business. The KCB East Africa Golf Tournament provides an opportunity for participants to build lasting relationships, create valuable networks and interact with people from diverse backgrounds across the region,” Byuma said.

She added that the bank is using the tournament not only to promote sport but also to champion environmental conservation through tree-planting initiatives aimed at contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.

“We are committed to creating positive impact in the communities where we operate. This tournament embodies the values of excellence, sustainability and shared prosperity, which are central to our purpose as a bank,” she noted.

The competition will be played in a four-ball team format, where the best score recorded on each hole contributes to the team’s overall tally. Organizers say the format is designed to encourage teamwork while still allowing players to showcase their individual golfing skills.

Players will compete under the Stableford scoring system, a points-based format that rewards consistency and strategic play throughout the round.

Participation in the tournament is open to golfers of all ages who possess a valid handicap and are registered with a CDH identification number. Interested golfers will be required to register through an online portal that will be provided by Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.

Organizers clarified that participation in the competition is free of charge, with players only expected to cover caddie fees. No purchase of products or payment of entry fees will be required.

The tournament has also attracted significant support from corporate partners who have lined up exciting prizes and experiences for participants.

As the official insurance partner, Icea Lion Uganda will showcase its Clubman’s Insurance package, a specialized insurance solution designed specifically for golfers.

Kenya Airways, the official airline partner, will reward the winning four-ball team with air tickets, while CFAO Mobility Uganda will provide a spectacular Hole-in-One prize in the form of a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series.

Ruby Hospital Kampala joins the tournament as the official wellness partner and will provide health and wellness support during the event.

Beyond the competition itself, the day will culminate in a glamorous 19th Hole experience featuring an all-white party for golfers, sponsors, partners and invited guests.

With participation expected from six countries and support from leading corporate brands, the 2026 KCB East Africa Golf Tournament is set to strengthen regional ties, promote healthy competition and further position golf as a platform for business networking and community impact across East Africa.
